About The Position

This position is responsible for overseeing department financials within Planning and Construction under general supervision of the Assistant Director of Business and Administrative Services. The successful candidate must be able to determine the necessary actions related to budget development and monitoring, accounts receivable and payable, establishment and review of encumbrances, capital improvement projects monitoring, and year-end closing. The successful candidate must also have the ability to work in a collaborative, deadline driven environment with multiple projects and changing priorities; maintain a disciplined, organized approach to all aspects of their work. Additionally, the applicant must be reliable and accurate on the job. This position will directly engage in the delivery of the day to day operations of the department and support driving the Planning and Construction service-oriented mission of providing university clients with high-quality professional services through the management and delivery of projects and the processes required for high-quality department administrative services to deliver these professional services.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school and two years of financial records maintenance experience which included such duties as controlling accounts payable/receivable; preparing financial reports for internal management use; and reconciling complex accounts; OR two years of experience as an Accounting Assistant III in Nevada State service; OR one year as an Accounting Assistant IV in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google suite programs.
  • Working knowledge of statutes, laws, rules and procedures such as Nevada Revised Statutes, Nevada Administrative Codes, State Administrative Manual, State Controller’s Office policies and procedures, GAAP, GASB, FASB, and various Federal rules, regulations, and guidelines, etc.
  • Experience using Workday.
