About The Position

Insight is a leading solutions and systems integrator, providing computer hardware, software, cloud solutions, and IT services to businesses, governments, educational institutions, and healthcare clients. We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background and an understanding of general ledger accounting, coupled with large company business process knowledge. In addition, the Senior Accountant will act as an accounting liaison to Insight's operating departments and collaborate cross-functionally with finance teams including FP&A, Opex, product accounting, billing, AR, AP, and others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Master's degree a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in general accounting function.
  • Strong accounting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to identify balance sheet errors and improper or misclassified profit & loss activity.
  • Ability to think critically and understand the underlying purpose of a given journal entry, internal control, or process, including upstream and downstream impacts. Ability to set expectations and identify anomalies.
  • Ability to articulate profit & loss and balance sheet fluctuations through written communication.
  • Experience analyzing large volumes of data.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively with various organizational levels.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
  • Ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • General knowledge of information technology (networks, operating systems, business applications, web technology, databases).
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree a plus.
  • CPA preferred, CMA, CFA a plus.
  • Working knowledge of SAP a plus.
  • Experience working for a big four audit firm preferred.
  • Experience working for a publicly held company a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently prepare and document profit & loss and balance sheet journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Drive the month-end close and consolidation process through collaboration with functional business department owners and corporate accounting personnel.
  • Research, analyze and document profit & loss and balance sheet fluctuations relating to distinct business functions.
  • Prepare financial statement disclosures.
  • Perform SOX internal audit controls.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests.
  • Assist with system implementations and acquisition integrations.
  • Identify and drive continuous process improvement efforts.
  • Develop and maintain Accounting Policies and Procedures to ensure US GAAP compliance.
  • Conduct research on accounting matters and recommend appropriate accounting procedures.
  • Perform other analyses and special projects as assigned.
