About The Position

As an Accountant - Professional II at Fiserv, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial processes. Leveraging your analytical skills and attention to detail, you will prepare and post journal entries, prepare account reconciliations, and assist in the monthly financial close. Your contributions will support our commitment to compliance with GAAP and enhance our operational efficiency. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and basic macros) to analyze and reconcile financial data.
  • Experience with accounting principles, including GAAP

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of accounting experience in a corporate, public accounting, or similar financial environment or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.
  • Experience preparing journal entries, performing general ledger account reconciliations, and supporting a monthly financial close process
  • Accounting experience using SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems
  • Experience with process improvement, standardization, and documentation of accounting procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships, influence decision-making, and present financial information to non-financial audiences

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the monthly financial close process, including preparing journal entries for posting to the general ledger along with monthly general ledger account reconciliations
  • Analyze, verify, and record financial transactions in an accurate and timely manner
  • Prepare reporting and analysis to support understanding of assigned balance sheet accounts and to aid in business unit processes
  • Maintain documentation of all relevant processes and procedures as changes occur
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to obtain necessary information, clarify variances, and support compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal accounting policies.
  • Support internal and external audit activities and inquiries, including documentation requests and control walkthroughs
  • Contribute to process improvements that increase the accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of close and reconciliation activities.
