About The Position

We are seeking an experience accounting and payroll professional to work with our Finance Manager. This is a full-time position that works on-site at our Flint location. Job Summary Supports the financial activities of the organization, including oversight of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and payroll.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree
3 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellent verbal and written communication
Critical thinking
Judgment and decision making
Complex problem solving
Management of financial resources
QuickBooks Online experience required.
Payroll software experience required, WorkForceNow preferred.

Nice To Haves

Experience in non-profit business preferred.
Experience in healthcare environments preferred

Responsibilities

Establishes, or recommends to management, economic strategies for the company.
Prepares reports which summarize and forecast business activity and financial position based on past, present, and expected operations.
Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
Preparation of budgets and reviews budget proposals, including forecasts.
Advises management about insurance coverage for protection against potential liabilities.
Provides management with reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various initiatives.
Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
Applies depreciation rates to capital assets.
Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code changes.
Arranges for audits of company accounts.
Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies, Board of Directors and funding agencies.
Files quarterly and annual tax reports and documents.
Establishes relations with banks and other financial institutions.
Prepares projections for future program changes, capital investments/improvements, staffing, grant funding.
Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
