About The Position

We are seeking an experience accounting and payroll professional to work with our Finance Manager.  This is a full-time position that works on-site at our Flint location. Job Summary Supports the financial activities of the organization, including oversight of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and payroll.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Critical thinking
  • Judgment and decision making
  • Complex problem solving
  • Management of financial resources
  • QuickBooks Online experience required.
  • Payroll software experience required, WorkForceNow preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in non-profit business preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare environments preferred

Responsibilities

  • Establishes, or recommends to management, economic strategies for the company.
  • Prepares reports which summarize and forecast business activity and financial position based on past, present, and expected operations.
  • Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
  • Preparation of budgets and reviews budget proposals, including forecasts.
  • Advises management about insurance coverage for protection against potential liabilities.
  • Provides management with reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various initiatives.
  • Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
  • Applies depreciation rates to capital assets.
  • Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code changes.
  • Arranges for audits of company accounts.
  • Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies, Board of Directors and funding agencies.
  • Files quarterly and annual tax reports and documents.
  • Establishes relations with banks and other financial institutions.
  • Prepares projections for future program changes, capital investments/improvements, staffing, grant funding.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
