About The Position

Job Summary: Perform a variety of accounting tasks with differing degrees of complexity. Apply generally accepted accounting principles and procedures to reconcile, analyze data and transactions, and prepare statements and reports.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of not-for-profit accounting and accounting systems
  • Knowledge of GASB, GAAP, and accounting best practices
  • Knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Willingness to take initiative, prioritize and perform proactively
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Effective organizational and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and time constraints to meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively with personnel and with internal and external partners
  • High School diploma or enrolled in college accounting courses.
  • This position is Security Sensitive, therefore, candidates will be subject to a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze, and reconcile various accounts on the general ledger and the subsidiary ledger for accuracy including areas of accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and fixed assets.
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries for general ledger accounts, updating documentation as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports by preparing and reviewing data required by various reporting agencies including local, state or federal.
  • Assist with the preparation of audit schedules, financial statements, and statistical data related to the annual audit and Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
