The Accountant III maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. An Accountant III prepares complex balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. Analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field and/or applicable military experience.
  • 5+ years of general financial accounting and healthcare regulatory reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of general financial accounting in medical services with enterprise level accounting software experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with California Department of Managed Healthcare risk bearing financial regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes general ledger accounts for accuracy; analyzes accrual accounts to ensure proper accruals.
  • Works with external audit firm to support timely completion of audits or compliance reporting.
  • Prepares and ensures accuracy and integrity of accounting and transactional records to ensure proper financial reporting.
  • Partners with internal stakeholders with budget planning and compliance.
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations; research and resolved identified discrepancies in a timely manner.
