Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Generally, a minimum of 3 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Demonstrates technical knowledge across various accounting principles and practices.
  • Works on assignments of moderate technical and logistical complexity.
  • Maintains knowledge of company policies, GAAP, and financial reporting standards.
  • Demonstrates foundational analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of company policies and industry laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and across departments.

Nice To Haves

  • Insurance accounting experience preferred.
  • Completion of or continuing progress toward a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and reviews monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports
  • Prepares journal entries and perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Supports internal and external audits, ensuring the availability of necessary documentation.
  • Performs financial analysis to support management decision-making and identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Prepares ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as required.
  • Supports internal control improvements and ensures adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Prepares timely monthly reconciliations of direct and ceded premium, claims cash account, etc.
  • Process payment requests for various invoices as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
