As an Accountant I, you'll have the opportunity to: - Manage daily accounting functions related to supplier invoices and employee expense reimbursement - Develop and communicate solutions for continuous process improvement within the job function - Perform calculations, posting of journal entries, analysis, and reporting for accounting transactions in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles - Apply results of research to the Company’s operations and/or specific transactions - Assist with financial statement review and preparation - Assist with various accounting projects and communicate results - Perform research and apply advanced problem solving to reconcile accounts and perform job duties - Manage expectations through consistent and timely updates - Work with external organizations and internal departments on project initiatives and various accounting issues This position is based in Lincoln, NE, offering a hybrid work option. Nelnet values flexibility and understands the importance of work-life integration. Our hybrid work environment allows associates living within 30 miles of our Lincoln Nebraska office location to work remotely for part of the week, while also fostering collaboration and team connection through in-office presence 24 hours per week.
