About The Position

The Accountant I (Entry) position involves various responsibilities related to fixed assets, KPMG audit support, and monthly reporting to management. The role requires physical audits, preparation of reports, and support for annual audits. The position also includes training engineering departments on prepaid policies and managing prepaid journal entries.

Requirements

• BS in Accounting or related fields of study
• Experience working in a culturally diverse team environment
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Fixed asset classification/creation/tracking
• Physically audit for both the semi-annual internal audit and the yearly accounting audit, primarily in Michigan and support California when needed
• Provide monthly reports for fixed assets including rollforward, state apportionment, book value, etc.
• Provide year-end asset creation and documentation support for fixed assets
• Provide support to the annual KPMG audit, pull documentation, research transactions, and any other support necessary related to auditor requests
• Make monthly reports to management based on assignments delegated by management, including functional area reports and budget detail reports
• Prepare prepaid journal entries and manage the monthly reconciliation of prepaid general ledger
• Train engineering departments on prepaid policy
• Ad hoc projects
• Travel 5%
