About The Position

Strategic Risk Solutions Inc. (SRS), the world’s largest independent insurance company manager, is growing and seeking an accounting professional to join our US East Captive Management servicing team, based in our Charleston, SC Office. As our Accountant (Account Manager I), you will support the financial and regulatory operations of a portfolio of captive insurance companies. SRS provides financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and program management services to captive insurance companies. We operate throughout the United States, in offshore domiciles (Barbados, Bermuda, and the Cayman Islands) and in Europe. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA a plus.
  • Proficiency in Spanish and English.
  • 2+ years financial accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of insurance accounting.
  • Strong time management and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel; SharePoint knowledge.
  • Ability to travel up to 5%.

Responsibilities

  • Accurate and timely preparation of monthly or quarterly journal entries and financial statements.
  • Prepare and file regulatory reports required by domicile regulators.
  • Maintain permanent file documentation.
  • Develop knowledge of captive corporate governance and assist with Board Meeting materials.
  • Assist in preparation of statutory accounting statements and NAIC filings.
  • Prepare and file premium and excise tax returns.
  • Review reconciliation and disbursement activities performed by Assistant Account Managers.
  • Support client, provider, and regulator communications.
  • Manage client audits and regulatory examinations.
