As a Health Choices Accountant 2, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a variety of fiscal and program staff, actuaries, legal counsels, and financial consultants in order to ensure compliance with various contracts. You will be applying your professional accounting knowledge, principles, and techniques to accurately complete a variety of accounting functions to deliver accurate, timely, and reliable financial services for Delaware County. Responsibilities include: Planning and administering the budget Accounting for program transactions Monitoring revenue and expenditures Preparing and distributing internal and external financial reports Maintaining contracts with the state, county, and provider personnel Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Requirements

  • One year as an Accountant I; or
  • Two years of professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four year college or university, including or supplemented by 15 credits in accounting.
  • Four years of bookkeeping experience and 18 college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
  • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
