This role, an Account Representative - Air Import/Export, involves handling shipments and ensuring profitability, establishing task priorities, scheduling and tracking work assignments, and coordinating shipping details with origin agents. The position requires tracking and tracing incoming shipments with various carriers, ensuring customers are informed of each milestone, and managing billing processes including demurrage, detention, and exam fees. You will work directly with carriers to coordinate and follow up on incoming shipments, negotiate pricing, and provide accurate instructions according to company shipping guidelines. Responsibilities also include converting and verifying shipment weight and volume, calculating rates and price conversions, performing profit and loss analysis, and maintaining communication with customers, carriers, and vendors. You will coordinate pick-ups, invoice files, assist customers with inquiries, complaints, and requests, and process and arrange cargo bookings with customers and overseas agents. Additionally, the role handles accounting processes accurately and in a timely manner, and involves opening files in the Cargowise system to generate invoices for the brokerage team or outside brokers.
