The Account Manager at Airgas is responsible for selling welding products and industrial gases while advising customers on necessary tools and materials. This role involves developing sales plans, cultivating customer relationships, managing contracts, and ensuring customer success. The Account Manager will work closely with internal teams to enhance customer profitability and drive sales growth in the Las Vegas territory.

  • Sell welding products and industrial gases to customers.
  • Advise customers on tools, hardware, and materials needed for their operations.
  • Develop and execute sales plans to service existing accounts and onboard new ones.
  • Cultivate customer relationships through a consultative approach.
  • Analyze product shortages and execute price management initiatives.
  • Ensure transaction accuracy and manage contract lifecycles.
  • Connect customers to Airgas resources to maximize value creation.
  • Drive improved adoption of Airgas.com and e-business solutions.
  • Maintain customer relationships and conduct routine business reviews.
  • Manage existing customer Accounts Receivable balances.
  • Bachelor's degree in a science, business, or related field required; or up to 4 years of additional related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of outside business-to-business sales experience with a proven track record in solution-selling.
  • Familiarity with industrial and specialty gases; experience in industrial gas/welding supply sales is a plus.
  • Knowledge of customer segmentation and prioritization for targeting high-value customers.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of business and accounting concepts, including ROI and P&L statements.
  • Proven success using a consultative sales approach to provide value to customers.
  • Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Reliable transportation and a current driver's license.
  • Working knowledge of SAP is a plus.
  • Strong PC skills including Windows, Word, Excel, and email.
