About The Position

The Account Manager role at Sysco is focused on managing customer relationships locally to enhance the customer experience. This position involves collaborating with various sales teams to ensure timely and accurate product delivery while providing excellent customer support. The Account Manager will spend a significant portion of their time building relationships with both new and existing accounts, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of prior outside foodservice account management or B2B sales experience required.
  • 5+ years of prior foodservice account management or B2B sales experience within restaurants preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company insurability standards.
  • Knowledge of Sysco products, ordering procedures, and credit terms.
  • Proficient in customer service management and able to partner cross-functionally.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned customers/concepts and handle last mile activities to ensure timely and accurate product delivery.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service Managers (CSM), transportation, merchandising, and contract sales teams to drive outcomes and influence customer interactions.
  • Liaise with back office to communicate with customers regarding product credits, special orders, etc.
  • Implement direction and best practices from the local contract sales organization via GSC; act as a role model for best practices.
  • Utilize CRM tools for account management, including managing tasks and ensuring customer data accuracy.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships through in-person visits based on customer needs and contracts.
  • Engage in challenging conversations with internal and external stakeholders as necessary.
  • Responsible for appropriate escalation of issues as needed.
