About The Position

It’s 8:30am at Axiom Studio, and you’re walking into our space at NE 6th and Davis with a coffee in one hand and a mental checklist already forming. A designer is pinning up concepts for a retail activation. Slack is buzzing. There’s a dog trotting past with a squeaky toy. By 9:00, you’re on your first client call of the day, and it’s not just a status update. It’s a strategy conversation. As our Account Manager, you don’t just “manage” accounts. You partner. You guide. You translate big, ambitious ideas into real-world builds that live beautifully in physical space. From the moment a client is onboarded, you are their go-to. You’ve already done the homework: you understand their business, their audience, their challenges, and what success truly looks like for them. When they call, you respond quickly and thoughtfully. When they push for something bold, you help shape the path to make it happen. You don’t say “no.” You say, “Here’s how.” Mid-morning might find you in a huddle with the team. You’re walking through scope, budget, and timelines, making sure the creative vision aligns with materials, fabrication realities, and shop capacity. You know the fabrication process well enough to ask smart questions about materials, production methods, and vendor coordination. You’re the connective tissue between client ambition and our build floor in NE Portland. When something feels fuzzy, you clarify. When something feels risky, you find a solution. You’re the translator, the advocate, and sometimes the diplomat. By lunchtime, you might be reviewing a proposal draft, refining scope of work language, or leading a conversation around contracts and rates. You’re comfortable talking numbers. You track forecasts, review invoices, and keep a steady eye on profitability. You know that healthy accounts mean a healthy business, and you take that responsibility seriously. Later, you could be partnering with our Business Development Team on a new opportunity, bringing your creative thinking and financial savviness together to shape a pitch that feels both exciting and executable. In the afternoon, you’re juggling. A timeline shifts. A vendor has a question. A client wants to expand the campaign. Deadlines are tight and flexibility is limited, but you thrive here. You reprioritize, communicate clearly, and keep everyone aligned. You lead planning meetings and onboarding sessions with confidence, setting the tone for collaboration and transparency from day one. After a major install or activation, you debrief with intention, identifying wins, lessons, and opportunities to grow the relationship. Growth is always on your radar. You look for ways to expand accounts with both immediate and long-term solutions. You identify moments to cross-sell Axiom’s unique suite of services. You build relationships that are consistent with our business plan, heritage, capabilities, and creative goals. New clients? You’re ready for them. Existing clients? They keep coming back because they trust you. Throughout the day, your tools are open and active: Google Docs, SketchUp, Keynote, Slack, ERP tracking the details behind the scenes. You move fluidly between big-picture thinking and meticulous follow-through. Success, for you, looks like clients who return again and again. It sounds like teammates saying, “We love working with them.” It feels like hitting deadlines without compromising quality. You bring at least two years of Account Management experience, ideally with retail, hospitality, or brand environment clients. You have a genuine passion for brand experience across design, fabrication, experiential technology, event production, or retail execution. You lead with clarity, empathy, and hustle. You’ll split your time, as you see fit, working from our Studio or your desk at the shop, staying connected to where ideas become tangible. You’ll be surrounded by a talented, driven team that believes in originality, imagination, and solving impossible problems. And yes, the dogs are real. They’re here daily. If you’re energized by fast-paced environments, inspired by creative collaboration, and motivated to drive both client satisfaction and profitability, this might be your next chapter. The salary range is $90,000 to $110,000. It’s a chance to lead accounts that push boundaries and to build extraordinary things with a team that means it. Our way of life promotes hard work, but health and family always come first. We ask employees to give us their all, and in turn, we help them live a rewarding work life with the balance they need to enjoy their career at Axiom. We offer an opportunity for growth, an excellent salary, paid holidays, 401k and Roth investment options, subsidized medical with voluntary dental and vision benefits (with dependent coverage options). Best yet, in year two and beyond you accrue 20 days of PTO! If this sounds like your kind of day, we’d love to hear your story. When you apply, use the cover letter section to introduce yourself. Nothing overly formal is needed. Tell us a bit about your background, what draws you to Axiom, why you’re a great fit. If you’re ready to build something remarkable and grow with a company that values skill, integrity, and dependability, go ahead and apply. We’re looking forward to meeting you.
