Position Summary: The Account Manager (AM) plays a critical role in deepening client relationships, expanding revenue within Managed Service Provider (MSP) programs, and ensuring flawless delivery execution. This role is responsible for driving account growth, increasing spread, introducing new service offerings, and partnering cross-functionally with recruiting and leadership teams to execute a strategic, data-driven account plan. The ideal candidate combines strong business development skills with operational discipline and exceptional client engagement.

Requirements

  • 3–7+ years of account management, sales, or client services experience within the staffing industry; MSP/VMS experience required
  • Demonstrated success driving revenue growth, increasing spread, and expanding service offerings within strategic accounts
  • Strong relationship-building skills with proven ability to engage executive stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, organization, and strategic planning capabilities
  • Experience partnering with recruiting teams and interpreting key delivery metrics
  • Ability to analyze data, identify growth opportunities, and execute complex account plans

Responsibilities

  • Revenue Growth & Delivery Execution Drive revenue growth across assigned MSP accounts by increasing starts per client and improving weekly spread
  • Forecast upcoming hiring needs and manage open requisitions across multiple service lines
  • Partner closely with recruiting teams to ensure high-quality delivery that meets or exceeds client SLAs and program expectations
  • Strategic Account Planning & Cross-Divisional Growth Develop and execute a comprehensive quarterly strategic account plan for each assigned account
  • Introduce and close at least one new service offering per quarter, including IT staffing, administrative/HR, engineering, offshore delivery, SOW, or permanent placement solutions
  • Maintain and update organizational maps to identify decision-makers, influencers, and expansion opportunities
  • Drive multi-division engagement to maximize account penetration across The Planet Group’s full portfolio
  • Client Relationship Management & Engagement Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts and lead proactive, consultative client engagement
  • Conduct monthly check-ins with hiring managers and quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with MSP program leaders and executive stakeholders
  • Facilitate at least one in-person client meeting per quarter with top accounts to strengthen relationships and uncover growth opportunities
  • Act as the escalation point for client concerns, ensuring timely resolution and sustained client satisfaction
  • Operational Excellence & Internal Collaboration Partner with recruiting and delivery teams to drive coverage, achieve submittal-to-interview ratios, and meet or exceed interview-to-offer targets
  • Ensure consistent communication around client expectations, program updates, and performance metrics
  • Maintain internal alignment through biannual business reviews with leadership and execute follow-up actions tied to account strategy
  • Client Satisfaction & Market Engagement Achieve high client satisfaction by securing at least one client testimonial or a QBR scorecard above 90% annually for each major account
  • Attend a minimum of two industry events per year to strengthen client relationships and build market intelligence
  • Monitor satisfaction trends and proactively recommend improvements to support long-term partnership success
