About The Position

Colonial Oil Industries, Inc. (COI) is one of the largest independent oil companies in the Southeast and has been serving the region since 1921. With strategic ocean terminals in Savannah, GA, Charleston, SC, and Jacksonville, FL, along with numerous terminals along the Colonial and Plantation Pipeline, COI has an extensive network to supply gasoline and diesel fuel to the Southeast. POSITION SUMMARY The Account Manager role is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with both existing customers and our outside sales team. The role will help support day to day business operations for their customer base to ensure the highest level customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills with the ability to help problem solve customer challenges.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required; college degree preferred.
  • 2 + years experience in a Customer Service and Data Entry Role, or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the transportation industries is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Satisfaction- proactively follow up with customer after delivery and service work order completion to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned customers, acting as their primary point of contact. Keeping the outside sales team up to date on any customer developments that may need their involvement.
  • Sales Growth: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing accounts to drive revenue growth.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with customers and internal teams to ensure smooth deliveries and work order execution.
  • Reporting: Prepare, and occasionally participate to deliver regular reports on account performance, sales activity, and customer feedback in advance of customer Quarterly Business Reviews
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, procurement, and operations/dispatch, to deliver comprehensive solutions to customers.
  • Process and maintain sales orders and service work orders.
  • Set up new customer ship to accounts, assist with customer verification, and maintain files and databases.
  • Operate as administrative support to Sales Team and assist with various inquiries.
  • Other duties as assigned.
