Alera Group is looking for an Employee Benefits Account Manager. The primary responsibility of an Employee Benefits (EB) Account Manager is the design, funding, compliance, and service of employee benefit plans. An Account Manager manages daily interactions with clients, insurance carriers, and other stakeholders toensure proper expectations are set and communicated clearly and concisely. To succeed in this role, the EB Account Manager should thoroughly understand all types of medical and ancillary benefit plans offered in California, follow the firm's internal client service delivery and compliance timelines, have a baseline knowledge of CA human resources and employee benefits regulatory compliance, know the financial impact of medical/ancillary plans that are offered, and keep up to date on the healthcare reform changes. Maintain accurate digital files, complete tasks on carrier websites, and consistently update agency management systems Ensure ongoing carrier and system maintenance to support accurate account administration Collaborate with producers and team members via Microsoft Teams to track tasks and share updates Support cohesive client service through clear communication and teamwork Stay current on industry trends, complete required trainings, and adhere to all agency policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Over five years of experience in employee benefits or claims management with broad knowledge across benefit programs and compliance requirements
  • Strong understanding of state and federal employee benefits laws and regulations
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Teams, professional in demeanor, collaborative, deadline-driven, and willing to travel up to 25%
