About The Position

Rubber Inc. is looking for an Account Manager based in the Birmingham, AL region to drive sales growth by expanding relationships with existing customers while actively pursuing new business opportunities. This role is responsible for increasing revenue and market share across Birmingham and nearby territories. We’re seeking someone with outside sales experience, ideally within the automotive space, who is self-driven, confident working independently, and focused on delivering both results and excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of relevant sales experience
  • Experience with cold outreach and new business development
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Proven history of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Strong prospecting and client acquisition skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships
  • Professional demeanor and appearance
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 2,800–3,800 miles per month)
  • Strong computer proficiency
  • Basic math skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with a solid work ethic

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of clients within the assigned territory
  • Establish an effective sales route through regular face-to-face client visits
  • Assess customer needs and recommend appropriate product solutions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing accounts
  • Assist customers with inventory planning and customized programs
  • Introduce and promote new products across your client base
  • Generate sales and process orders through internal systems
  • Track leads, activities, and customer interactions using CRM tools
  • Collaborate with vendors to provide product knowledge and support to clients
  • Partner with the Regional Manager to address challenges and identify growth opportunities
  • Deliver outstanding customer service and handle objections effectively
