About The Position

The strategic account manager will manage sophisticated customer relationships and customer strategies up through customer C level across all Linde businesses. This role addresses a wide variety of customer and internal demands with control of objectives and priorities. The manager defines elements of sales strategy within their area of responsibility, collaborating with customers and Linde senior management to set long-term objectives. They create a purpose and vision for their sales area that supports LG US South and larger Linde goals, participating in cross-business and cross-functional teams. The manager works closely with business development to position Linde as the solution provider for customer needs, ensuring alignment between Linde senior management and customer senior management to make Linde plc the industrial gas provider of choice.

Requirements

  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate technical and commercial information related to industrial gas solutions.
  • Problem Solving and Active Listening: Excellent listening skills and the ability to analyze and respond to challenges in dynamic situations.
  • Business Development Experience: Proven track record in identifying opportunities, developing strategies, and managing commercial projects.
  • Industry Experience: 10 years of commercial experience in a similar industry, including customer negotiations and business growth initiatives.
  • Contracting Expertise: Hands-on experience with large on-site production and pipeline supply contracts.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time to support client negotiations and oversee project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and manages sales account strategy that results in the accomplishment of business objectives.
  • Accountable for delivering the assigned area annual business plan results related to growth, revenue, margin, and operating profit.
  • Defines business unit product and sales direction, providing functional guidance and expertise for tactical decisions.
  • Sets goals for profitable growth, reviewing account plans and sales reports with region management.
  • Monitors overall sales plans to ensure compliance with long- and short-term goals, pricing strategies, and renegotiation plans.
  • Validates business opportunities across business units and with business development, including identifying business alternatives.
  • Manages sales expenses and keeps budget in line with business dictates.
  • Builds and maintains business relationships at customer senior management levels.
  • Negotiates long-term, project-based, sophisticated agreements.
  • Represents the customer's interest internally to allow for Linde to present solutions.
