About The Position

Account Manager / VCIO $70,000 base + commission Ascent Data is a leading Managed IT Service Provider for businesses in the Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia regions. Our Cloud and Data Center clients span the nation. We exist to transform technology into value for our customers and help small to mid-sized businesses succeed through advanced technology management, personalized IT strategy, and the constant support of our responsive team. We are seeking a dynamic and strategic vCIO/Account Manager to join our team. This hybrid role blends technical expertise with relationship management, providing our clients with tailored, strategic IT guidance. You’ll work closely with business leaders to align their technology roadmaps with organizational goals, ensuring long-term success and satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business Administration, or a related field—or 5+ years in client-facing account management within MSP, cloud, or data services.
  • Deep understanding of IT managed services and cloud/data center solutions—or the ability to learn quickly.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Highly self-motivated with a customer-first mindset.
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally around the Pittsburgh area.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Active pursuit or maintenance of professional IT certifications (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and present strategic IT plans that align with clients' business objectives.
  • Understand client industries, pain points, and evolving needs to recommend impactful IT solutions and industry trends.
  • Create and manage technology roadmaps focused on efficiency, security, and business continuity.
  • Serve as the trusted advisor and main point of contact for assigned clients.
  • Foster strong relationships by proactively addressing concerns and delivering value-added solutions through face-to-face and virtual client engagement.
  • Identify opportunities for additional services or projects that support client success.
  • Prepare hardware and service quotes in collaboration with other departments.
  • Lead strategic technical alignment reviews regarding IT performance, security posture, and future initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and project execution.
