The Account Manager Pharmacist interacts directly with the Director of Clinical and Client Operations, is part of the larger Account Manager Pharmacist team, interacts with the larger OWCA Clinical Services team, the Go-To-Market Team, Informatics, Business Development, and Industry Stakeholders including our clients, whether assigned to the individual Account Manager Pharmacist or to our division in general. These interactions are to design, develop, implement and maintain clinical programs, strategies, and interventions supporting best practices in drug utilization for our clients while promoting the growth and retention of all OWCA clients. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Requirements

  • Pharmacy degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy
  • Licensed pharmacist in good standing within state of residence
  • 5+ years of clinical experience including the assessment of complicated medication regimens and implementation of therapeutic interventions
  • 1+ years of Pharmacy Benefit Management experience
  • Experience with professional and technical writing
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with data analytics, reporting, speaking and presenting to groups
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Proficiency with writing project plans, policies and procedures
  • Proven excellent oral and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Proven high degree of initiative and independent judgment
  • Proven solid attention to detail
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks to consistently meet deadlines and engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously
  • Proven ability to be flexible, and capable, of handling constant change and multiple new processes
  • Proven ability to interact as a professional team member and collaborate with other healthcare professionals and business colleagues
  • Proven ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

  • PharmD/Advanced degree or Post-graduate residency with significant focus on pain management
  • Workers’ Compensation industry experience

Responsibilities

  • Works with the Director of Clinical and Client Operations and all internal and client stakeholders to implement new clients to our PBM and clinical services
  • Works to implement and develop clinical programs and clinical reporting that assists clients in achieving their goals and objectives for their PBM and Managed Care programs
  • Acquires and maintains detailed knowledge of all supported clients with respect to clinical programs (including program setup and reporting), overall clinical program performance, and client clinical goals
  • Acquires and maintains detailed knowledge of all available clinical products and services in order to provide appropriate client support and to participate in internal continuous performance improvement initiatives
  • Participate in client stewardships, deliver clinical analysis of data and trends, speaking to clinical commentary and owning presentation to client on clinical trends and formulary options
  • Maintains client relationships to be the escalation point of contact for any clinical concern or issue related to the PBM programs and as an alternative to the account manager as appropriate
  • Identifies client project requirements and produces the necessary documentation to initiate the discussion for the new client initiative and to assist the internal development team in their project planning
  • Develops and oversees implementation strategies for new clinical pilot programs and reports
  • Develop and implement strategies for ongoing maintenance of drug lists at a client level for applications and programs that may not be in the department’s standard offering
  • Monitors, facilitates, and reports on productivity and performance of the client’s medication and prescription utilization at both internal and external client meetings
  • Develop plans to mitigate and identify issues identified from trending
  • Brings forth topics of client concern and for discussion with the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, as appropriate and as related to client matters
  • Evaluates for successful client project and program execution
  • Provides direction and mentoring for other Clinical Liaison Pharmacists or department peers
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for clinical project and reporting development, as needed and as related to client matters
  • Assist with program enhancements and support initiatives that improve workflow efficiency and service quality
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support client needs or balance workload across the team
