About The Position

The Account Manager, Investment Specialist at Nuveen Investments is responsible for driving product conversations and servicing discussions with a diverse client base of professional buyers. This role involves collaborating with senior investment specialists to identify co-product opportunities and leveraging detailed product knowledge to advise clients on investment goals. The position requires building strong relationships with key decision-makers and maintaining existing product ratings while seeking new opportunities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in a business development role for an asset manager or equivalent experience working in due diligence at an investment firm.
  • FINRA Series 7 & 63 (or combination of 63 & 65); can be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Bachelor's degree; CFA or CAIA preferred.
  • A strong combination of sales and analytical skills.
  • Significant knowledge of the financial markets, both equity and fixed income, and the ability to articulate investment discipline with a deep understanding of the process and specific portfolios.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to profile clients.
  • Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills; ability to analyze and prioritize large amounts of information.

Nice To Haves

  • 7+ years of experience working with professional buyers (home office manager due diligence teams, consultant relations, RIAs).

Responsibilities

  • Advises clients on the organization's prioritized products and capabilities to help them realize investment goals.
  • Serves as the primary point of engagement with manager research and firm discretionary teams regarding the organization's products and services.
  • Identifies near-term opportunities related to the sponsor's lineup of investment options.
  • Maintains existing recommended ratings, wins new recommended ratings, and builds impactful relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Builds and maintains strong partnerships with key decision-makers including senior management across assigned clients.
  • Applies detailed product knowledge and thorough understanding of clients' businesses when providing advice.
  • Coaches, reviews, and delegates work to lower-level account managers.
