About The Position

This role is a high-impact, growth-focused sales position responsible for owning and expanding a portfolio of strategic accounts within the industrial chemicals market, including commodity chemicals and customized, manufactured solutions. The successful candidate will operate as a true business owner—driving revenue, margin expansion, and long-term customer partnerships through strategic prospecting, consultative selling, and disciplined execution of a business plan aligned with annual performance goals.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable motor vehicle driving record
  • Must have the ability to pass all pre-employment testing including, but not limited to background, MVR, and drug screening
  • Must possess computer skills and be proficient at Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and job specific software
  • Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to attend meetings.
  • Ability to sit, work at a computer terminal, and/or talk on the telephone up to 4 hours at a time.
  • Ability to travel to customers and stay overnight when necessary.
  • Regular attendance is essential.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ Years of successful sales experience in the chemical industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university is required

Responsibilities

  • Own and grow a defined account portfolio across industrial chemical customers, serving as the primary driver of revenue growth, customer retention, and margin expansion
  • Prospect, qualify, and close new business opportunities across both commodity chemical offerings and engineered/manufactured solutions
  • Partner closely with the Sales Manager to strategically price and maximize margins on new and existing projects, balancing volume-driven commodity business with higher-value solution selling
  • Develop deep, trusted relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within target industrial accounts
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (operations, technical, supply chain, and customer service) to ensure seamless execution, timely delivery, and successful commercialization of new chemical solutions
  • Leverage Salesforce and Business Intelligence tools to actively manage pipeline health, forecast accurately, and drive disciplined sales execution
  • Maintain a dynamic sales funnel including target accounts, qualified prospects, and solution-based opportunities
  • Translate customer processes, technical needs, and market dynamics into actionable growth strategies and account-level business plans, presenting insights and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Consistently achieve or exceed goals for business retention, volume growth, margin expansion, and new customer acquisition
  • Identify and capitalize on market trends, supply/demand dynamics, and competitive opportunities within the industrial chemicals space
  • Demonstrate strong drive, resilience, and accountability in moving opportunities from concept to close, particularly in complex or multi-stakeholder environments
  • Deliver professional, persuasive presentations and communicate effectively across all organizational levels—internally and externally
  • Uphold Hydrite’s Standard of Excellence through a continuous commitment to maintain quality facilities and provide quality products and services to internal and external customers.
  • Participate in RCRA, regulatory, health & safety and process training activities as required. Review changes/additions with your supervisor. Must be RCRA compliant.
  • Perform all duties outlined in relevant SOPs and all other duties to be assigned.
  • Work with other staff members to maintain workload balances. Provide back-up support as necessary.
  • Support effective communication with all Hydrite departments where responsibilities overlap to ensure success of the branch team.
