This role requires deep technical expertise in lubrication systems and applications, and a strategic approach to supporting key industrial clients in optimizing equipment performance and reliability. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player with the technical insight and business acumen to drive growth, build customer relationships, and deliver value in a highly specialized market.

Requirements

  • Technical Expertise: Solid understanding of plant operations along with the ability to work directly with OEMs in industries such as automotive, parts manufacturing, panel board, etc.
  • Sales Experience: Minimum of 2 years of industrial sales experience—preferably in lubricants—within the manufacturing industry.
  • Lubrication Knowledge: Familiarity with lubricant formulations, performance characteristics, and equipment applications in high-demand industrial environments.
  • Education: A degree in Engineering or a related technical field is preferred; equivalent industry experience will also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Work with key customers to maintain strong relationships at Idemitsu-served plants and mills
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to expand our customer base and increase market share
  • Provide field technical support for customers and prospects to establish proof-of-performance for Idemitsu industrial products, including product trials and analysis of oil sample test results
  • Diagnose lubrication-related issues at customer sites, recommend effective solutions, and drive sales initiatives to address customer needs
  • Collaborate with internal teams to recommend product or service enhancements as needed
  • Monitor competitive activity and ensure our value proposition remains strong
  • Available for travel across the United States and Canada on a regular basis (50% minimum)
