The Account Manager is a client-facing role responsible for managing and strengthening relationships with assigned agencies, brokers, and employer/purchaser groups. This position supports the Sales Relationship Manager (SRM) and Account Executives (AE) by delivering consultative service that ensures client satisfaction while driving retention and growth. The role requires a strong understanding of Medica’s products, operational processes, and regulatory requirements, along with the ability to resolve complex service issues and lead cross-functional teams to achieve exceptional client outcomes. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant work experience beyond degree completion
  • Exceptional relationship management and sound decision-making skills
  • Strong interpersonal abilities, including active listening, mentoring, and motivating others
  • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to manage conflict and resolve complex issues
  • Ability to inspire confidence and drive measurable financial results
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a focus on team development and performance
  • Strong operational knowledge with the ability to execute effectively across internal processes

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within the healthcare or insurance industry
  • Knowledge of health insurance products
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and resolve complex issues
  • Experience with COSMOS Business preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a defined book of business, managing escalated service issues and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Partner with SRMs and AEs to support renewals and new business initiatives, including financial analysis and reporting.
  • Educate and consult clients on Medica’s programs, products, and administrative processes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and internal partners.
  • Lead and prioritize the work of internal teams to ensure timely, accurate, and effective service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms and regulatory requirements while aligning solutions to client needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
