About The Position

Are you ready to make a difference? The Home Energy Advisor (HEA) plays a pivotal role in the success of our single-family residential program by combining strong project management with community engagement and program coordination. This role bridges the gap between technical execution and participant support, ensuring that residential retrofit and remodel projects are completed efficiently, equitably, and in alignment with community needs. The HEA serves as both the central liaison for program participants and the lead for managing residential retrofit and remodel projects. This dual role requires a proactive, community-oriented professional who can manage contractors, coordinate with internal teams, and maintain clear, consistent communication with all stakeholders. The HEA must demonstrate cultural sensitivity, trustworthiness, and a sincere commitment to equitable outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (e.g., Energy, Sustainability, Business, Agriculture, Environmental Science) (One year of professional experience may be substituted for one year of education)
  • 1+ years of experience in energy efficiency, utilities, construction, or a related field
  • Basic mechanical skills and able to lift boxes no heavier than 30 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, driving, walking, standing, above head arm movements
  • Valid driver’s license and successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check
  • Must have a reliable vehicle for local travel. Requirements are between 25% to 40% of the time. (reimbursement for mileage provided)

  • BPI Certificate of Knowledge, BPI Analyst, LEED Green Associate, CEM, or similar certification

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for program participants throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead and oversee residential retrofit and remodel projects from planning through completion.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless information flow and collaboration.
  • Manage contractor relationships, ensuring accountability, quality, and adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and progress evaluations.
  • Assist in preparing and finalizing scopes of work for each participant.
  • Review and interpret residential building codes to ensure compliance.
  • Support stakeholder engagement through regular updates, discussions, and alignment on goals.
  • Provide community insights through QA/QC processes and participant feedback.
  • Manage incentive layering coordination and follow-up surveys.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting.
