About The Position

At Systems Engineering, our mission is to enable exceptional outcomes for our clients, employees, and the community. We are seeking a full-time Account Manager to join our highly skilled team of IT Sales professionals. Our Account Managers play a pivotal role in enhancing the client experience and serve as trusted advisors for our Managed Services clients. This revenue generating role is responsible for maintaining ongoing business relationships, identifying clients’ business problems that can be solved with Systems Engineering’s IT & Cybersecurity services, and collaborating cross-functionally to resolve issues. We are looking for a motivated technology sales professional who thrives on client-focused problem-solving and delivering high quality and timely solutions through a combination of technical knowledge, communication skills, and business acumen to effectively manage relationships.

Requirements

  • Candidates with experience in client-facing service, account management, or business-to-business sales roles that is excited about owning a book of business and motivated by managing a measurable set of goals aligned to a variable compensation plan.
  • Strong relationship building skills, ability to think strategically, problem solve and make effective decisions autonomously, while being able to work with and present to C-level decision makers on strategic initiatives
  • An understanding of technology and how it impacts business as well as curiosity and a drive to seek out learning & development opportunities as it relates to technology.
  • Flexible and agile; can work within a fast-moving environment while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities independently and staying organized.
  • Due to the nature of our business and the requirements of ITAR regulations, this role may require access to controlled information and technology. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents and be willing to undergo a thorough background check as part of the employment process.

Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue growth by identifying solutions-based sales opportunities, presenting solutions, and meeting revenue and margin targets.
  • Own client relationships by serving as the primary point of contact and the trusted advisor responsible for retention of existing book of business and developing revenue growth.
  • Develop and present strategic technology plans to client executive leadership that deliver dynamic business outcomes and align with client vision.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, technical, and leadership teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • This is a hybrid role that includes regular onsite travel to client locations and carries an expectation of working in our Portland, Maine office four days per week.
