About The Position

CLIENT SERVICES / Responsible for leading Octagon’s client business and day-to-day management of client programs. Our headquarters are in Stamford, CT, but the location of this position can be flexible with a priority given to candidates open to hybrid work (3 days week in office) in one of our office locations - - Stamford, CT or New York, NY. We are looking for an Account Manager to execute the golf sponsorship platform of a fortune 500 company. This is a great opportunity for anyone with a passion for golf, working alongside talent, and the ability to manage multiple projects with acute attention to detail! This individual must have a proven background in client services and project management. This person will work closely with the Vice Presidents who lead all aspects of the client account within the sport sponsorship, title sponsorship and ambassador space, along with key players on the client team and their agency and property partners.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of sponsorship marketing and/or experience in managing marketing platforms

  • Sufficient understanding of the golf industry
  • Experience in managing, and forecasting against, a budget
  • Experience leading and growing junior staff
  • Passionate to make an overall account contribution with new projects and ideas
  • Excellent communication, writing and client service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and acute attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and work weekends or holidays as needed. Anticipated travel: Low (0-15%)

Responsibilities

  • Implement client’s sponsorship portfolio, including a title sponsorship, branded and custom content coordination, media strategy & execution, brand ambassador contractual fulfillment, as well as continuous portfolio evaluation
  • Lead all logistics of brand ambassador relationship, including athlete appearances including lodging, transportation, food and beverage, production services, and more
  • Help co-lead client’s events, including branded integration, athlete appearances, guest communication, golf course logistics, etc.
  • Lead all weekly status calls and other key meetings with both internal and external constituents, including continuous management of client budget
  • Serve as a trusted and reliable agency contact for client sponsorship team, player agents, internal client departments and client’s agency partners
  • Ensure contractual compliance and fulfillment of sponsorship assets, and handle the day-to-day logistics of implementing various property elements
  • Ensure various agency partners are aligned and advised on timelines, as well as keep projects moving alongside target timelines and budgets
  • Supervision of junior staff, including full time and limited term positions
