About The Position

The Account Manager (2) is a relationship-driven, high-energy B2B professional responsible for protecting and growing revenue within an assigned geographic territory of existing customers. This role focuses on deepening relationships, solving problems in real time, and expanding accounts through contract renewals and high-margin upsells. This is not a hunting role. Approximately 95% of income and activity comes from existing customers. The Account Manager thrives in face-to-face environments—walking plant floors, riding routes, identifying opportunities, and turning satisfied customers into raving fans and larger, more profitable accounts. In addition to managing their own book of business, this role provides leadership and coaching to Account Managers to drive consistent execution, customer retention, and revenue growth.

Requirements

  • B2B sales or account management experience preferred (route-based or service industries a plus)
  • Proven ability to grow existing accounts and retain customers
  • CRM experience preferred
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally within assigned territory for customer visits and ride-alongs

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and performance support to assigned Account Managers, ensuring consistent execution of account management, renewals, and growth strategies across the team
  • Monitor team performance against retention, growth, and activity expectations and address gaps proactively
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex customer issues and high-value account situations
  • Manage and grow a book of 400–600 existing customer accounts within an assigned geographic territory
  • Protect existing revenue through strong relationships, proactive service, and timely contract renewals
  • Grow accounts by identifying and selling high-margin upsell opportunities, including: Restroom supplies First aid programs Floor mats Facility services Promotional and custom apparel Webstores and one-time orders
  • Ride along with Route Representatives to: Identify upsell opportunities Spot service issues and resolve them quickly Gather referrals and customer insights
  • Conduct regular in-person customer visits to strengthen relationships and uncover growth opportunities
  • Add new recurring and one-time revenue streams within existing accounts
  • Meet assigned top customers on a consistent, defined cadence
  • Hit territory sales growth and average increase goals
  • Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction, retention, and long-term growth
  • Partner closely with route, service, and leadership teams to maintain and grow existing business
  • Document customer interactions, opportunities, renewals, and account activity in the CRM system
