About The Position

Legacy is seeking a persistent, high-output Account Executive to drive digital advertising revenue across obituary content, memorialization products, and high-intent audience segments. This is not an order-taker role. You will build a pipeline of close strategic partnerships, and unlock new revenue streams across direct brands, agencies, and custom innovative integrations. You’ll sell to decision-makers, structure smart deals, and push opportunities across the finish line. We’re a category-leading publisher reaching millions of users each month. Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of experience in digital advertising sales, publisher sales, or ad-tech revenue leadership.
  • Proven track record of exceeding revenue targets in a high-volume or premium publisher environment.
  • Familiarity with programmatic advertising.
  • Experience selling to mid-market and enterprise advertisers and agencies.
  • Strong management skills with experience leading or growing a sales organization.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a niche or high-intent audience vertical (e.g., life stages, seniors, financial services).
  • Familiarity with obituary, memorialization, or online publishing environments.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with data-driven decision-making.
  • Background in branded content, partnerships, or native advertising.

Responsibilities

  • Revenue Strategy & Growth Own the annual advertising revenue plan, including direct-sold sponsorships and custom solutions.
  • Identify and capitalize on new revenue opportunities aligned with advertiser demand (e.g., insurance, financial planning, healthcare, senior services).
  • Develop and execute strategies to increase yield across multiple formats and platforms.
  • Client & Agency Development Develop deep relationships with major advertisers, agencies, charities and other areas of opportunity.
  • Lead high-level negotiations for multi-channel partnerships, including branded content, native ads, email sponsorships, and custom integrations.
  • Represent Legacy.com at industry events, conferences, and meetings with C-level stakeholders.
  • Product & Partnership Collaboration Collaborate with product, engineering, and design teams to develop new ad units, premium ad experiences, and sponsorship offerings.
  • Partner with editorial and marketing teams on brand-safe, high-quality integrations and storytelling opportunities.
  • Collaborate with data teams to enhance audience segmentation, targeting, and first-party data strategies.
  • Operational Excellence Oversee pipeline management, forecasting accuracy, reporting, and CRM discipline.
  • Ensure quality ad delivery and campaign performance in partnership with Ad Ops.
  • Coordinate with finance on pricing, billing, and revenue recognition.
