Account Executive

Sunshine Sachs Morgan & LylisWashington, DC
$60,000 - $60,000

About The Position

Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis is a leading global communications agency built to navigate the complexities of a hyper-connected world. We represent the icons and innovators shaping culture—from global heritage corporations and high-growth tech startups to the non-profits, creative legends, and visionary founders who define the global discourse. Our expertise spans the full cultural spectrum. We operate at the intersection of entertainment, social impact, corporate reputation, and consumer lifestyle, executing seamlessly across traditional media, social-first outlets, brand partnerships, and influencer ecosystems. Whether we are navigating complex crisis management, elevating advocacy campaigns, or launching global consumer brands, we are storytellers at our core. You may notice our digital presence is purposefully understated. While our clients are global household names, we believe the best work happens with the spotlight stays firmly on those we represent. We fly under the radar by design - preferring to let our campaigns, and our results, speak for themselves. If you're driven, intentional, and ready to do good, we're ready for you! Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis has an opening for a high-energy, multidisciplinary Account Executive in our Washington, D.C. office. This is a role for someone who understands that in D.C., culture and policy move in tandem — and who is excited to operate at that intersection. You have 2–3 years of experience in public relations, public affairs, consumer communications, or book publicity, and you’ve developed sharp instincts for navigating the unique media ecosystem of the capital — from Beltway outlets and national bookers to lifestyle editors and digital creators. We are looking for an AE who is just as excited to launch a debut memoir from a major political leader as they are to support a mission driven consumer brand, NGO, hospitality opening or cultural moment. You understand in 2026, a brand’s reputation lives at the intersection of earned media, social ecosystems, and the cultural zeitgeist.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of experience in lifestyle PR, consumer communications, public affairs or book publicity.
  • Understand the nuances of operating in a politically engaged media market and can toggle seamlessly between cultural storytelling and policy-aware communications.
  • Live on social media and understand the creator economy.
  • Know which platforms are driving conversation for readers and consumers right now and can translate that knowledge into a smart pitch.
  • Possess high EQ and great judgment.
  • Can read a room, handle the specific needs of high-profile authors or founders with ease, and maintain a calm, solution-oriented attitude under pressure.
  • Are a concise and creative writer.
  • Whether it is a 140-character pitch to a bookstagrammer or a deep-dive briefing note for a CEO, your writing is sharp, persuasive, and error-free.
  • Love a good brainstorm and aren't afraid to suggest a new platform or a bold story idea.
  • Have an innate curiosity about the world and how brands and books can make it a more interesting place.
  • Excel at managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Take genuine pride in the accuracy of your reports and the thoroughness of your media research.

Responsibilities

  • Own the daily execution for a roster of 4–6 clients.
  • Responsible for active media outreach, securing impactful placements in lifestyle, literary, and national outlets, and identifying creative windows where our clients can authentically join the cultural conversation.
  • Coordinate a book tour with social-first content and creator partnerships to ensure every launch has a cohesive, national impact.
  • Manage the essential foundation of your accounts.
  • Own the agendas, meeting recaps, and activity reports, ensuring they are always meticulous and ready for authors, founders, and senior leadership.
  • Provide critical support for lifestyle events, including product launches, influencer dinners, and brand activations.
  • Own the logistics: managing invite lists, wrangling media on-site, and ensuring every detail is executed with total precision.
  • Draft creative pitches, press materials, author bios, and lifestyle-driven content.
  • Monitor the news cycle and social platforms daily.
  • Prioritize trust, discretion, and professionalism with clients, journalists, producers, bookers, and creators.
  • Contribute positively to team culture and lead by example with integrity and follow-through.
  • Bring existing media and/or creator contacts — including reporters, editors, producers, bookers, Substack writers, podcast hosts, and digital creators — and continue to expand your network across national and D.C.-based outlets.
