KMBC-TV Channel 9 (ABC) and KCWE-TV Channel 29 (CW) in Kansas City, MO, are seeking an Account Executive. An Account Executive is responsible for selling advertising to local businesses and ad agencies, as well as soliciting new business to advertise on television and digital platforms. Requirements

  • 1+ years of media, digital sales, or consultative/solutions-based selling experience
  • Proven success in developing new or non-traditional business
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Experience in a consultative, customer-focused environment
  • Ability to thrive in a goal-driven organization with accountability
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset
  • Experience selling directly to business owners
  • Ability to understand and apply qualitative research to support sales efforts
  • Related military experience will be considered

Responsibilities

  • Generate revenue across all available platforms
  • Prospect, contact, and present to new businesses
  • Develop new revenue through local business opportunities
  • Build strategic and market-driven partnerships
  • Manage an active client account list
  • Conceptualize, create, and deliver sales proposals that align with station strategies
  • Achieve individual sales goals while contributing to the success of the sales team
