About The Position

At Bluevine, we’re building the financial operating system for small and mid-sized businesses. From business banking to lending and payments, we help companies manage cash flow, access capital, and scale with confidence. We’re expanding into a more upmarket segment ($1M–$10M revenue businesses) and hiring an Account Executive to help build this motion from the ground up. This is a highly autonomous, experimental role focused on outbound prospecting, founder engagement, and shaping how Bluevine sells into more complex businesses. This is not a traditional AE role. You’ll operate like a mini–GM: identifying target segments, testing messaging, leveraging AI tools for prospecting, and helping define the playbook as we go upmarket.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or a similar closing role.
  • Experience selling to founders, startups, or SMB operators (fintech strongly preferred).
  • Comfortable operating independently.
  • Proven ability to generate pipeline through outbound efforts.
  • Experience using AI tools (e.g., for prospecting, research, personalization) and a curiosity to push this further.
  • Analytical mindset with experience testing and iterating on messaging or targeting.
  • Strong communicator who can simplify financial concepts.
  • Highly motivated, resilient, and excited by building something new within an established company.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full sales cycle from cold outreach to close for net-new accounts.
  • Prospect into $1M–$10M SMBs using a mix of creative outbound, AI tools, and data-driven targeting.
  • Engage directly with founders, operators, finance leaders, and business owners to understand their banking and cash flow needs.
  • Develop and run A/B tests on messaging, targeting, and outreach strategies.
  • Position Bluevine’s banking and financial products as a core part of a company’s financial stack.
  • Build and manage your own pipeline, with a focus on quality and velocity.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product, and growth teams to refine ICP and messaging.
  • Capture learnings and help define the playbook for this new segment.
  • Consistently hit and exceed revenue targets while navigating ambiguity.
