About The Position

Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Accommodation Coordinator. - Jupiter, FL. The Student Accessibility Services team seeks a dedicated and student-focused professional to support FAU students with disabilities, including students with medical, emotional, learning, physical, and sensory disabilities.

Requirements

  • A master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization ; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.

  • Final candidate will be required to have official, sealed transcripts and original NACES evaluation, if applicable, sent from their educational institution to Human Resources prior to the start of employment.
  • Selected candidates must successfully complete and pass all employment screenings prior to the start of employment.
  • Employment screenings may include a criminal background check (level I and level II), motor vehicle check, credit check, reference checks, alcohol, and drug screening check.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the testing services, which includes provision of exam accommodations, maintaining records of exam accommodations, and communicating with students, professors, and staff.
  • Oversees the volunteer and paid note taking programs which includes recruiting volunteers, communicating with professors, and tracking the provision of note taking services as well as planning and executing a yearly volunteer appreciation luncheon.
  • Implements academic support and services for students in the areas of effective learning strategies.
  • Provides direct service to students through individualized academic consultation with a focus on learning, time management, and organization strategies; content specific tutoring; college transitions; navigating the university system; and self-advocacy.
