About The Position

Work World is the largest specialty workwear supplier in the Western U.S. We operate 38 retail stores, a large eCommerce business through Amazon and our own website, and service Industrial Accounts locally and nationally. Our stores operate under the Work World, Whistle Workwear, Willy's Discount Workwear and Shoeteria brand names in California, Nevada and Washington. We don’t just sell workwear and work boots. We are looking for an experienced Accessories Buyer to join our Merchandising team. This role owns the end-to-end category strategy for Accessories across a multi-channel business, including retail stores, industrial accounts, and eCommerce.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5+ years of buying, merchandising, or category management experience, preferably within accessories or related product categories.
  • Experience managing assortments across multi-channel environments, including retail stores and eCommerce; industrial or B2B experience a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales, margin, and inventory data to drive decisions.
  • Proven vendor management and negotiation skills.
  • Experience working with inventory planning, forecasting, and replenishment processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with Netsuite ERP a plus.
  • Strong cross-functional communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute the Accessories category strategy across retail, industrial, and eCommerce channels.
  • Develop assortment plans including SKU optimization, product lifecycle management, and channel-specific assortments.
  • Identify growth opportunities through trend analysis, customer insights, and performance data.
  • Lead vendor relationships, negotiations, and cost management initiatives.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and partner on innovation, exclusives, and margin improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to set pricing, promotional, and markdown strategies.
  • Analyze sales, margin, and inventory performance to drive action plans.
  • Optimize category profitability while maintaining competitive market positioning.
  • Manage inventory levels to support demand while maximizing turns and minimizing aged inventory.
  • Partner with planning and analytics teams to improve forecasting accuracy and replenishment execution.
  • Work closely with eCommerce, data, and store teams to ensure accurate product setup, content readiness, and execution by channel.
  • Support operational excellence across hubs, stores, and industrial programs.
