As a Systems Team Leader - Security , you will be a pivotal member of our projects team, responsible for overseeing and executing on-site installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance of security systems. Your role will involve leading a team of technicians, ensuring exceptional service delivery, and maintaining high standards of quality across all projects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Vocational or trade school courses in electrical, electronics, or communication systems preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience with security systems installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of various security system technologies, including but not limited to access control, video surveillance, intercom, and intrusion.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing technical issues.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries.
  • Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as for specific tasks or environments.
  • Participate in safety training programs to stay informed about industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • T he ability to operate standard office equipment including but not limited to laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet.
  • Travel to customer job sites which requires the ability to work in a variety of circumstances, including but not limited to standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment; working in ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, basements, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions.
  • Must be able to maintain a professional appearance.
  • May be to satisfy requirements imposed by specific projects, customers, or company .
  • Must be able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 25 pounds unassisted.

Responsibilities

  • Install, program, and configure electronic security systems for commercial c ustomers including door access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, low voltage communication, electronic locks, point sensors, signaling devices, etc.
  • Oversee technical project execution for security systems installations across multiple construction sites, ensuring projects stay on schedule and within scope.
  • Provide customer training on the use and basic troubleshooting of common issues and programming features.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed , system configurations, and corrective actions thoroughly and descriptively.
  • Conduct site visits and walkthroughs to assess progress, ensure work aligns with project expectations, and address issues promptly.
  • Verify installations are completed according to design drawings, company standards, and customer requirements.
  • Assign team resources to various projects and manage the performance and schedule of these team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Lead a team of technicians in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of security systems.
  • Responsible for training and developing technicians, providing technical advice, and offering guidance.
  • Assist with implementation of policies, practices, and standards to ensure effective and consistent department operation .
  • Monitor metrics, implement actions to improve performance, and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Adopt and support tools, platforms, initiatives, and programs focused on enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Participate in the selection process for new technicians.
  • Conduct annual goal setting and performance reviews.
