About The Position

The Access Control Analyst is responsible for managing and overseeing access control systems to ensure the security of physical and digital environments. This individual will ensure that access control mechanisms, including hardware, software, and related policies, are efficiently implemented, maintained, and adhered to, while ensuring compliance with security protocols and organizational standards. The Access Control Analyst will also contribute to the planning and execution of access control strategies, assist with identifying vulnerabilities, and support ongoing access security projects to protect sensitive assets, networks, and systems.

Requirements

  • One year of Information Technology related experience required
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements
  • Proficiency in the management and administration of access control systems and related software
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations regarding access control and physical security
  • Ability to identify and resolve access control security issues in a timely manner
  • Experience with security technologies, including CCTV, alarm systems, and access control hardware
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen ability to monitor systems for abnormalities and security breaches
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear instructions and reports
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information securely
  • Exhibits superior customer service to end users in relation to access control systems

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of experience in access control, security systems administration, or related field preferred
  • Experience with access control software, hardware (badge readers, card access systems), and other security systems is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain access control systems, including user authentication systems, badge readers, door access systems, and physical security components
  • Monitor access logs and reports to identify potential security threats, breaches, or anomalies
  • Provide timely support for access issues, troubleshooting access-related incidents and ensuring resolution of escalated cases
  • Review and update access control lists, ensuring appropriate access permissions and roles are assigned to employees, contractors, and visitors
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and legal requirements related to access control
  • Conduct routine audits of access control systems and make recommendations for improvements or upgrades
  • Coordinate with other security teams to align access control with broader physical and cybersecurity strategies
  • Assist with training staff on access control procedures and best practices
  • Document policies, procedures, and incidents related to access control
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of new access control solutions, including system upgrades and installations
  • Assist with the implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans as they relate to access control
  • Provide afterhours support as required by organizational policies
  • Other duties as assigned
