Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Degree or GED (Required)
  • 1 - 2 years experience Customer Service (Required)
  • Ability to operate multiple computer applications
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Typing speed of 35 wpm
  • Medical terminology required within first year of employment if not already taken

Responsibilities

  • Performs Scheduling or Registration functions in a timely and accurate manner: working with TH ancillary departments to coordinate care and communicate with patients and physicians/offices to obtain information necessary to schedule and/or register patients.
  • Provide excellent customer service and answer patient questions and resolve issues.
  • Collect of copays, standard deposits and deductibles.
  • SCHEDULING: schedule physician ordered tests in accordance with department guidelines; correlate medical diagnosis with ordered tests/procedures for medical necessity purposes that is required to receive reimbursement.
  • REGISTRATION: educate patients on TH required legal compliance paperwork and provide financial triage (can properly direct patient with financial questions and explain concepts of insurance).
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic workflow, appropriate volume of phone calls/registrations per hour and other identified departmental targets.
  • Follows regulatory and departmental policies for collection of data, patient safety and point of service collections.
  • Follow scripting, anticipates customer needs, problem solving skills, consistent and positive interactions with patients and co-workers.
