SUMMARY: The Academic Success Coach (ASC) serves as a primary point of contact, a guide, a knowledgeable academic advisor, and a resource hub for Logan University students. The Academic Success Coach advises students on test-taking strategies, class schedules, and time management. They coordinate educational programming on campus along with social events. The Academic Success Coach must possess a working knowledge of Logan University's curriculum, policies, and procedures, all while being able to take direction, voice ideas respectfully, and function as a team member within the Logan University community. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Academic Advising Provide individualized academic advising to Doctor of Chiropractic students, assisting them in course selection, elective approval, academic degree planning, and academic goal setting. Generate communications to be sent to students throughout the term regarding essential information and dates. Interpret academic policies, procedures, and requirements to students, faculty, and staff, ensuring accurate and timely communication of information. Student Support and Advocacy Serve as a primary point of contact and advocate for students facing academic challenges, personal difficulties, or other barriers to success. Provide referral services to students seeking assistance with financial aid, scholarships, tutoring, and other academic support services. Develop and organize webinars and/or presentations in collaboration with other departments on campus to provide additional support to students. Development and Enhancement Engage in professional development opportunities. Assist in the development, implementation, and assessment of academic advising programs, initiatives, and resources to enhance student retention and success. Stay up-to-date with best practices, trends, and research in academic advising and student development to continuously improve services and support for students. Collaboration and Outreach Foster positive relationships with faculty, administrators, and staff across campus to promote a culture of academic excellence and student success. Strongly encouraged to serve on various committees, task forces, councils, boards, etc., as appointed by relevant bodies and based on the individual's knowledge/experience. Occasionally assist the Office of Admissions with events, student orientation, and student recruitment. Administrative Duties Maintain accurate and confidential student records, advising notes, and documentation in accordance with institutional policies and regulations. Collaborate with various departments in enrollment planning for future terms. Collaborate with the Academic Success Center team to develop and manage departmental budgets, reports, and assessments. Be able to perform other duties as assigned. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide academic advising and targeted coaching in partnership with other Student Affairs Personnel, Faculty, and Academic Leadership Welcome and orient new students to Logan University Construct, monitor, and coach individualized student success plans Support new and returning student's course scheduling decisions each term Monitor trends and evaluate individual student and group success as defined by set parameters Help students establish and maintain positive study habits and mindset Refer students to resources as needed to optimize their success Ensure students have the necessary tools for success through proactive and/or just-in-time resource surfacing and coaching to bolster utilization. Communicate with students throughout each trimester Act as a liaison between students and faculty Develop and/or improve workshops, tutorials, or other content to help underprepared students prepare, prepared students advance, and advanced students excel toward their learning goals and institutional outcomes.
