University Health Physicians, the academic group practice for the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine seeks a full time faculty member for the Department of Ob/GYN at University Health. UH provides the expertise of academic medicine the region’s largest safety-net academic hospital. The ideal candidate is a BC/BE Ob/Gyn physician who provides excellent full scope obstetric and gynecologic care, in the office and hospital. The selected candidate would join a group of Ob/Gyn specialists, female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgeons as well as several maternal-fetal medicine specialists. Opportunities for medical student and resident education, in-office procedures and daVinci robotic surgery are also available. The OB/GYN Faculty will provide full-spectrum OB & GYN care at our UH-TMC campus. Academic appointment and salary will be commensurate with background. In addition to a busy residency program of 32 residents, the Department of OB/GYN, primarily located in Kansas City, Missouri, has a maternal-fetal medicine fellowship program, and exciting opportunities for research and academic achievement. Since its inception in 1972, University Health Physicians is organized for the following medical, charitable, scientific and educational purposes: · To provide for the medically indigent and other individuals who are in need of health care; · To promote, conduct and administer programs in mental health, maternal and infant care, family planning, communicable disease control, community health, accident prevention, rehabilitation, home care and other areas affecting health; · To teach, instruct, promote and encourage disciplines involving any of the above by use of training, research and educational programs, courses of instruction and any other means; · To employ, maintain and retain physicians, surgeons, dentists, osteopathic physicians and surgeons, and other educators and support personnel as staff for hospitals and other healthcare facilities, as faculty for medical and dental schools and for related activities; and · To do and perform any other activity which promotes physical and mental health and to support and conduct any and all activities connected with the operation of hospitals, other healthcare facilities, and educational institutions and any charitable, scientific or educational activities in any manner related thereto.
