About The Position

Novastar Prep is seeking an Academic Hiring Coordinator to support the recruitment and onboarding of high-quality tutors across the United States. This is a fully remote, hiring-focused role within an education environment. This role plays a critical part in shaping the caliber of educators who represent our programs nationwide. This role does not require prior recruiting experience. Selected candidates will be trained to conduct structured interviews, evaluate applicants, and manage a professional and efficient hiring process. Role Overview The Academic Hiring Coordinator will manage the tutor hiring process from initial application through onboarding. This includes candidate screening, conducting virtual interviews, coordinating next steps, and maintaining accurate records throughout the process. The role requires strong attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple candidates simultaneously.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 1+ year of experience in education, tutoring, academic support, coordination, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Professional presence and comfort leading structured conversations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines effectively
  • Reliable, responsive, and process-oriented
  • Interest in education and academic quality

Responsibilities

  • Conduct structured virtual interviews with tutor candidates following internal guidelines
  • Evaluate candidates using established criteria and hiring rubrics
  • Review applications and identify qualified tutor candidates across subject areas
  • Communicate professionally with candidates throughout each stage of the hiring process
  • Coordinate interview scheduling and manage candidate pipelines
  • Oversee onboarding steps, including documentation and tutor setup
  • Maintain accurate and organized records within internal systems
  • Ensure a consistent, high-quality candidate experience aligned with company standards
