About The Position

We have an opening for an Academic Graduate Appointee. The successful candidate is expected to use frontier AI models to analyze, consolidate, and optimize policies/regulatory documentation, eliminating redundancies, ensuring consistency and regulatory compliance, and collaborating with data scientists and stakeholders to support research, development, and organizational objectives. Focus area(s) may include institutional policies and regulatory requirement. This position is in the Global Security Computing Applications Division in the Intelligent Detection, Exploitation, and Analysis group in the Computing organization at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. In this role you will Develop front-end website architecture and back-end website applications. Design user interactions on web pages. Ensure cross-platform optimization for mobile phones, as well as responsiveness of applications. Participate in projects from conception to finished product. Design and develop APIs. Provide software application engineering and maintenance for all phases of the software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, implementation, and support. Generate functional requirements, develop architectural design documentation, and provide status for project tracking activities. Provide analysis and innovative methods to enhance and extend the product services to a broad customer base. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to access the Laboratory in compliance with Section 3112 of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). See the additional information section below for details.
  • Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field or the equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Experience with Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and/or CSS3/SCSS.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Git, NPM, and/or UI Frameworks & Libraries, such a,s PrimeNG or Bootstrap.
  • Experience developing database technologies, such as, SQL or NoSQL.
  • Fundamental knowledge of Web UI design and development.
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs with experience working with backend developers to design/consume APIs.
  • Sufficient verbal and written communication skills necessary to effectively collaborate in a team environment, solve problems, and present and explain technical information.
  • Sufficient interpersonal skills necessary to interact with all levels of personnel and ability to work independently in a multi-disciplinary team environment with globally spread teams.
  • Passion for learning new technologies and self-education.
