The Department of Pathology, Immunology and Laboratory Medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level for Director of Cytogenetics. The laboratory is responsible for performance of Cytogenetics services at University Hospital – the school’s 519-bed tertiary care core teaching hospital in Newark, NJ as well as the performance of consultative cytogenetics and molecular genetics studies. The successful candidate will provide leadership to the Cytogenetics Laboratory and be responsible for interpretation and reporting of FISH and chromosome analysis. The candidate will interact closely with clinical staff and be an active participant in the educational programs of the Department including teaching medical students and residents and will be expected to engage in productive research activities. The candidate will also assist in the operational management of the Core, contribute to scientific journals and grants and participate in scientific conferences/meetings.
