About The Position

Washington State University Office of the Provost is now accepting applications for an Academic Coordinator/Advisor. This role is a centrally deployed professional whose primary responsibility is to provide quality, holistic academic advising and coaching services to students through the Academic Success & Career Center (ASCC). As the Academic Coordinator/Advisor your duties and responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) carrying an academic advising load reflecting a diverse student population, coordinating the ASCC tutoring program, participating in the delivery of ASCC services including drop-in advising, student workshops, reinstatement activities, and related events. You will also represent ASCC at recruitment and orientation programs. Additional Information: This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible. This is an on-site/in-person role located in Pullman, WA. Monthly Salary: $4,162.54 to $4,574.20 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience working with students in an educational setting or related field
  • A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience.
  • Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year‑for‑year basis
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in higher education, counseling, student affairs, or a related field
  • Experience providing academic advising or academic coaching to college students
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse student populations
  • Experience coordinating or supporting tutoring, coaching, or academic support programs
  • Experience teaching university level courses and/or delivering workshops, presentations, or group‑based programming
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a student‑centered, fast‑paced environment
