About The Position

Summary: Provide academic coaching to students diagnosed with AD/HD and/or learning differences revolving around executive functioning issues. Assist students with various areas within executive functioning that inhibit their ability to reach their learning potential and display their true cognitive abilities. Facilitate independent learning and support students in navigating their college experience. Maintain ADA compliance. Job Description: Essential duties and responsibilities Coach students through individual meetings, check weekly class attendance, communicate with instructors, tutors, and parents. Serve as an instructor as needed for one academic courses in the Dialogues of Learning. Teach Self and Society curriculum including psychological and sociological theories, writing, and presenting skills. Advise and register incoming students during the Admitted Students Experience and prior to their first semester of college. Meet with prospective students and families in collaboration with the office of admission to educate and recruit students. Organize program for orientation and meet with new students and parents. Participate in Faculty Fellows and Faculty Development training each semester. Teach a Citizenship project course and volunteer with Day of Caring for Lynn University as needed. Participate on university committees as needed. Work with multiple technology tools and teach students to utilize the iPad mini as an educational resource. Represent the Institute at Admission Open Houses which occur on Weekends. Some working engagements may require evenings past 5:00pm. Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Knowledge and skills in: Technology; Microsoft Word, Excel, Navigate, Canvas, Workday
  • Counseling
  • Higher education
  • Learning differences
  • Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in the area of Psychology or Exceptional Student Education (ESE).
  • Experience coaching/advising University students with Learning Disabilities, ADHD, executive function disorders, and Autism Spectrum disorders

Nice To Haves

  • International Coach Federation (ICF), Board Certified Coach (BCC) preferred
