Responsible for assisting all incoming visitors in a positive and supportive manner. This position is the primary receptionist for all visitors to the ECE Student Services Office and thus requires an individual who has excellent knowledge of customer service. Ensures that all common areas are clean, organized and well presented. Ensures that visitors and phone calls are directed to appropriate staff and/or Faculty. Serves as a public contact for the program and answers general inquiries by email, mail, telephone, and in person. Performs general office duties, such as providing reception, answering telephones, ordering supplies, and filing. Supports academic manager with scheduling activities, such as appointments, interviews, evaluations, classrooms, exams, meetings, and seminars. Inputs or retrieves data relating to student enrollment, course scheduling, grades, and course and instructor evaluations. Maintains academic student records for the department. Works closely with academic advising staff to distribute and collect departmental scholarship offer letters and thank you letters. Supports academic courses, including collecting and posting course syllabi to the department website, assisting with classroom technology/Canvas, entering grades, and ordering textbooks. Ad-hoc room assignments for study sessions, exams and other events as necessary. Processes grade change requests for the department. Provides support for events, such as student orientations or award ceremonies. Assists in directing and/or escorting visitors and assisting with the preparation of and tear down of events associated with academics and recruiting. Other duties, as assigned by the Academic Support Services Manager.
