About The Position

Provides academic program-specific advisement to transfer students regarding course requirements, transfer articulation, and academic progress; assists students with course selection and sequencing; determines eligibility and satisfactory progress toward degree completion; and communicates academic progress and findings to university administration to ensure compliance with financial aid and athletic requirements. Develops individual student action plan to achieve academic goals, career objectives, and personal growth; evaluates transcripts to determine student eligibility and progress; assists students with academic petitions and graduation applications; maintains and manages student academic files in accordance with recognized protocols; follows rules and regulations applicable for FERPA, Title IX, etc. compliance. Effectively uses institutional technological systems such as Banner, CAPP, Early Alert Warning Systems, and other Web based software, etc. Provides referral services for students to appropriate campus resources for assistance, study skills, tutoring, counseling, etc. Develops and coordinates student recruitment activities, including attending college day/night programs, college fairs and high schools; disseminates information regarding registration procedures. Provides academic program-specific advisement to students regarding admissions policies/procedures and general academic program requirements; describes courses; and disseminates information regarding registration procedures. Provides information and/or advises students on financial assistance, student work programs, and/or scholarships available in the university; advises students on work opportunities in the area and placement opportunities in local industry, and directs students to career placement services. Prepares and produces statistical reports and other formal records in accordance with applicable laws and procedures; reviews and recommends record management and other academic processing procedures. Attends all academic advisor training workshops as assigned. 10. Performs other related duties as assigned.
