CAS Academic Advisors support and guide students in achieving their personal, professional, and academic goals. During the academic year, CAS Advisors dedicate at least half of their work week to direct student interactions, which take place in appointments and at various university events. Advisors will use appreciative advising approaches with a growth mindset and cultural humility to promote learning and development. CAS Advisors dedicate the other half of their work week to complete related administrative responsibilities, requiring strong computer, problem-solving, and self-management skills. This position is a professional, non-instructional advising role supporting the College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) on the Tampa campus and reports to a CAS Assistant Director of Advising. This position suits those who identify as a lifelong learner and who embrace technology and innovative approaches to their professional practice. CAS Academic Advisors maintain comprehensive knowledge of academic programs, policies, procedures, and student support services across the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. Advisors collaborate with their departments and supervisors to remain current on academic and career-related information relevant to their student populations.
