About The Position

The Community Practice at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine is excited to announce a new ABVP fellowship. This is an opportunity to gain experience working with four ABVP diplomates in canine/feline practice and provides an accelerated pathway to board certification in canine/feline practice through the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. Significant mentorship in managing medical cases, dentistry and surgery is offered within Community Practice as well as the opportunity to rotate through other specialty services within the teaching hospital. Community Practice provides primary care to anyone who lives within 35 miles of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital and has a diverse caseload. This is a 2-year position with a salary of $80,000/year plus benefits including health insurance, paid time off, sick leave, and retirement savings. Requirements

  • A DVM/VMD and 1 year of practice experience or a rotating internship is required.
  • Candidates should have a significant interest in veterinary general practice, working with veterinary students, and a desire to obtain board certification in canine/feline practice through ABVP.
  • The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
